- 3 ripe bananas (about 450 g)
- 180 g (1 ยฝ cups) whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ยผ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 100 g (ยฝ cup) unsweetened applesauce
- 60 ml (ยผ cup) pure maple syrup
- 100 g (ยพ cup) dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175ยฐC (350ยฐF).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Then add the eggs, applesauce, and maple syrup. Mix well.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40โ45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Ensure bananas are fully ripe for maximum moisture. Measure flour accurately by spooning and leveling.
