Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (about 450 g)
  • 180 g (1 ยฝ cups) whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ยผ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 g (ยฝ cup) unsweetened applesauce
  • 60 ml (ยผ cup) pure maple syrup
  • 100 g (ยพ cup) dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175ยฐC (350ยฐF).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Then add the eggs, applesauce, and maple syrup. Mix well.
  4. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 40โ€“45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Ensure bananas are fully ripe for maximum moisture. Measure flour accurately by spooning and leveling.
