Description

Golden, flaky pinwheels filled with garlicky butter and rich cheddar, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 cup aged cheddar cheese, grated
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, thyme, and salt. Microwave for about 30 seconds until melted and fragrant.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry dough onto a clean surface and brush with the aromatic melted butter mixture.
  3. Grate the cheddar cheese evenly over the buttered pastry.
  4. Starting from the longest side, tightly roll the pastry into a log.
  5. Slice the log into 1 cm thick rounds.
  6. Place the pinwheels on a parchment-lined baking tray, brush tops with reserved butter, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For variations, consider adding sun-dried tomatoes or using different herbs.
