- 2 to 3 teaspoons light brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
- Green onions (thinly sliced, optional for garnishing)
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, olive oil, optional brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add diced chicken, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
- Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the air fryer basket or spray it with cooking spray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 385F if required. For best results, air fry at 380-390F.
- Add chicken to the air fryer in a flat layer, discarding excess marinade.
- Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes until chicken reaches 165F, flipping once midway.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately, preferably with rice.
