  • 2 to 3 teaspoons light brown sugar (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
  • Green onions (thinly sliced, optional for garnishing)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, olive oil, optional brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add diced chicken, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
  3. Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the air fryer basket or spray it with cooking spray.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 385F if required. For best results, air fry at 380-390F.
  5. Add chicken to the air fryer in a flat layer, discarding excess marinade.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes until chicken reaches 165F, flipping once midway.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately, preferably with rice.
