Description

A delicious traditional Margherita pizza with fresh basil, mozzarella, and tomatoes.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine yeast mixture with flour mixture and knead to form a dough.
  5. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
  7. Spread pizza sauce over the base.
  8. Add sliced mozzarella cheese and basil leaves on top.
  9. Drizzle with olive oil.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden brown.
