A rich and comforting lasagna layered with meat, cheese, and marinara sauce.

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce to the beef and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread a thin layer of beef sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and third of Parmesan.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and remaining meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, replace ground beef with lentils or sautéed vegetables.
