This recipe creates a decadent tiramisu, a classic Italian no-bake dessert. It features layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a rich, creamy mascarpone filling, dusted with cocoa powder. It’s an indulgent treat perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- For the Cream Layer:
- 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml), chilled
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese (225 g), softened
- For the Coffee-Soaked Ladyfingers:
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee (480 ml), cooled
- 24–30 ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
- For Garnish:
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- Shaved dark chocolate (optional)
Instructions
- Make mascarpone cream: Beat heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Fold in mascarpone until smooth.
- Prepare coffee: Brew strong coffee and let it cool. Pour into a shallow dish.
- Assemble tiramisu: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee and arrange a layer in the bottom of your dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
- Chill: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Finish & serve: Dust generously with cocoa powder just before serving. Garnish with shaved chocolate if desired.
Notes
- Dip ladyfingers quickly—do not soak or they’ll fall apart.
- Chill overnight for the best flavor and texture.
- Use high-quality mascarpone for authentic creaminess.
- Always dust with cocoa powder just before serving to keep it fresh.
